I really hate how Megatron treats Starscream in this episode. Well, in TFP in general of course, but especially in season 2 episode 24.

I know it's already been discussed quite a lot, but I just hate when people act like TFP Starscream is this completely evil villain who deserved everything they received.

Notice the way Starscream flinches when Megatron speaks. Already, in this scene we have signs of terror in Starscream.

Megatron has violated their privacy by entering their brain without their consent, for no good reason. Megatron claims it is to "see if his intentions are true," but I think that's bullshit. He's already seen enough of Starscream to be able to manipulate and bully and terrorize them with ease, so it was unnecessary for him to go into Starscream's mind to look at her private thoughts and memories.

When Starscream tells Megatron to just "take the keys and pretend they were never there," it is an attempt to flee, plain and simple. Starscream only wanted safety from this arrangement, trying to use the omega keys as a deal to regain his status as SIC, or simply as a Decepticon in general. He is scared, and completely gives up on his search of safety with the Decepticons in that moment. Megatron preys on that fear, not letting him leave. More signs of panic arise in Starscream when we see them start to hyperventilate. (Or the Cybertronian equivalent to hyperventilation)

It's just such an abusive thing to do, but I guess, what do you expect from the leader of the Decepticons?

To make things even worse, Megatron shames Starscream for having a "twisted little mind," which I assume is him trying to convince Starscream that he is too stupid and undeserving to disobey Megatron. He threatens to kill Starscream, and that is when it gets even more horrible.

Starscream says that "a good trouncing usually straightens them out," and afterwards, a montage plays of past times where Starscream is beaten by Megatron. This was not for war, this was just to abuse his power over his smaller and weaker SIC to bully and manipulate them. It makes me so sad to see Starscream offer herself up to abuse in order to avoid death. It's just what she's gotten used to over the years.

They could never hurt Megatron in a way that would be equivalent to the pain he has forced them to endure for so long.

And yet, people STILL try to justify the abuse Starscream receives, saying that they are treacherous and cowardly, so they deserve it.

I hate this. I take it very personally, in fact, even when I know I shouldn't. Of course I can still laugh and make jokes about Starscream's self-absorbed personality, but it makes me incredibly uncomfortable to hear people laugh over Starscream being emotionally and physically abused by Megatron. Or worse; when they *romanticize* it.

The creators of TFP even thought it was funny when Starscream was hurt because she "screams like a girl." So I think that, whether people realize it or not, when they laugh at Starscream being hurt by Megatron, it is for somewhat misogynistic reasons. I also think that when people ship Megatron and Starscream (specifically in TFP) that it is not just toxic, but it is abusive. I would consider it a proshipping thing. (Proshippers PLEASE dni)

I've had similar experiences with victim-blaming, so I can't help but get a little defensive when people attack my favorite character for being "deserving of abuse."

Obviously, do whatever you want. This is simply my analysis of the situation, and sharing what I think. Of course I know that Starscream has also done some awful stuff in TFP, but I do not consider them to be 100% evil. I could list reasons why for days, honestly. Regardless, they did not deserve to be abused. Thanks for reading.

Even though some really weird stuff that can’t be explained have happened im definitely teem rational. i think we see the show from the girls’ pov (mainly shauna’s) so many stuff can be twisted because of the trauma they had witnessed. Also, i think they believed in a supernatural “power” in the wilderness, because they didn’t have faith in anything else. They were desperate to find a purpose. Just like people do when they’re struggling. As Taylor Swift said: “ desperate people find faith so now i pray to jesus too”

ahhhhhh i can’t decide about my favourite teens it’s either jackie or lottie. I love them both so much. my little misunderstood babies 😭😭😭😭😭😭☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️😭☹️☹️. adult timeline (this is probably controversial) BUT it’s shauna and misty. adult misty is probably the funniest person in the world like go off queen! whatever u say i’ll agree! i fear she’s me when i grow up without the murdering of course😇 and shauna well do i REALLY need to explain. okay yeah she was an annoying mum but she’s been through so much i don’t know how people expect her to turn into a perfect mother figure after everything she has faced.

i mean the Yellowjackets soundtrack EATS (just like them) BUT i loved the fade into you scene and obviously the radiohead scene while they were eating jackie. however you can’t deny the scenes with jeff were😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 i love that man i don’t care. HE LITERALLY PLAYED FUCK THE POLICE IN FROMT OF THE POLICE STATION BECAUSE HIS WIFE WHO WAS A MURDERER WAS INSIDE. if this isn’t iconic idk what is. and also that scene when he played that song that said cut my life into pieces after going to that guys gallery😭😭😭😭😭😭 IM CRYING it’s so funny even thinking about i was laughing so hard during that scene

my favourite ship is BY FAR jackieshauna. it’s the most realistic one to me and i have already an essay about them in my notes they’re so tragic i could die about them. every. single. detail. i learn about them is so sad like they’re the saddest people on this earth. i have a soft spot for ships that end tragically 💔

so I don’t remember the episode numbers and everything (IM NOT A FAKE FAN I SWEAR) but my favourite episode is the one with jackie cannibalism scene. OBVIOUSLY. if someone told me to define art i would simply just show them this scene. my other fav is the one with Shauna’s birth. i was for about half an hour. whatever negative thought i had for shauna disappeared the second i watched this scene. “Me and you against the world” just kill me. just slaughter me already.

i would really like it for the antler queen to be nat. she’s the “purest” of them but she’s the queen. it just makes so much sense. she’s also the one that has had the worst healing process by far. i would also like if the antler queen will be a plot twist and someone we wouldn’t expect

i have so many scenes that i love. every jackieshauna staring session. lottie trying to make nat remember and then nat laying on her legs. jackie cannibalism scene. the girls dancing showing they’re still just kids. everything about this show is perfection

my personal theory is that they all go back to the wilderness and die at the end. they have realised they loved the freedom the wilderness gave them and start feeling like it’s their faith. this would be so so sad cause if someone bothers my baby shauna im gonna kill them but unfortunately i just have this feeling no one will make it out alive. they will go insane to the point there’s like 3,2,1 of them. the last one remaining will either live and try to have a normal life (i don’t think so) or die because they lost their purpose.

i have done numerous quizzes cause im obsessed with this stuff and the character that is most like me is lottie. she’s introverted, thoughtful, portrayed as weird and just gets me! she’s sensitive and empathetic and may seem cold to people that don’t know her that much. exactly the same as me im not able to say a word to people i don’t know well.

Here’s mine!

1. I am mostly Team Rational because I love the way this show depicts trauma but I also love seeing the supernatural side of things through the survivors’ eyes if that makes sense.

2. Natalie in the teen timeline because I love her compassion and softness underneath the front she puts on. Lottie in the adult timeline because I love her internal battle with herself and how afraid she is of her own mind. Misty is a close second in the adult timeline!

3. “Cornflake Girl” playing while Nat sees the mossy tree for the first time, Callie seeing the Adam Martin driver’s license in the barbecue, and Shauna eating Jackie’s ear. It just goes so perfectly with everything that’s going on (especially the elevated piano while Nat and Travis are scaling the mountain and the lyrics while Shauna takes the bite!)

4. LottieNat is my favorite ship I can’t help it Nat and Lottie are my favorite characters so having them together is a dream (TaiVan, JackieShauna, and TravNat are up there, too).

5. 1x09 “Doomcoming” is just amazing and captures everything I love about Yellowjackets. I love when they let the girls go batshit crazy, hoping we get more Doomcoming vibes in S3.

6. I want the Antler Queen to be Natalie because that would show a true descent for her in the Wilderness from being the most morally grounded one to the leader of the group at their most unhinged and primal. But honestly I think that Shauna might be the AQ after all…

7. I think the Jackie-eating scene is the best in the entire show. The “Climbing Up the Walls” song choice, the bacchanal feast flashes as a way of coping with the horror of what they’re doing, seeing them go fully feral for the first time, it’s such a well crafted scene.

8. I know this probably won’t happen but I’m just going to throw it out there that Cabin Daughter is alive and she will be revealed to have been Javi’s “friend”!

9. I relate to Shauna the most because I also admittedly have a bit of an obsessive/intense personality and I, too, internalize my emotions to a very unhealthy degree sometimes. I also grew up being in love with my childhood best friend who is very, very much like Jackie (and now we have been dating for 7 years!)

10. Mine is a mix of going to a Yellowjackets panel and sitting like 5 feet from the showrunners, doing everything in my power to score early screening tickets to Heretic and Companion, and pretending I was sick so I could go home early from work the day that the S3 trailer came out.

11. The male characters on this show get too much hate🫢 I like Travis, Jeff, Kevyn, and Walter (even though his introduction and storyline are rushed and forced). I don’t like them more than the female characters, but I like them nevertheless and appreciate their contributions to the plot.

The worst part about trying to figure out what Crocodile's deal is that because he's so fucking irredeemably evil in Alabasta... Like... Yeah he's just irredeemably evil. Like I love him but he did cause countless casualties, a ton of pain and suffering and literally attempted to blow up a million people

Like no amount of theoretical "trying to do it to save his son from the Government" or "trying to stop the Government from hurting anyone else" or just "doing it for the greater good" is going to make him any less of a mass murderer

But also Robin absolutely 100% helped with all of that shit simply because she wanted to read the Poneglyph for herself.

No amount of her intending to betray Crocodile from the begining and sabotaging his plans erases the fact that Robin also caused countless people to starve to death and die in the civil war. Her sabotages only succeeded out of sheer luck, and only spared the lives of the people at the final battle. She has the blood of countless innocents on her hands. Because she wanted to read history.

But her crimes were swept under the rug because she has a sad backstory and her sabotages worked out just at the nick of time by sheer dumb luck

What's also killing me is that we like. Don't know what Luffy thinks of Crocodile right now. Which really is like. The thing that will decide how we, as the readers, are supposed to feel about Crocodile. Luffy is our POV

Like we don't know what Luffy's opinion of Crocodile is after he helped save Luffy (and spared Ace once) during the Summit War. Like Luffy clearly fucking hated the man in Impel Down and the two interactions they had during the War weren't like positive (in the sense that Luffy himself didn't think of the interactions as particularly positive. Defending Whitebeard from being attacked once and then being like "wait what HIM?!" when Crocodile defended Ace. To be fair, in the midst of the chaos, there wasn't much time to spend on Pondering On Such Things because Ace needed to be saved, and Oda goes out of his way to not show us what's going on inside Luffy's head, because it's all meant to be out in the open anyways. Regardless, these weren't like "yay it's Crocodile! :)" moments for Luffy is what I mean)

But also Luffy was very grateful of Law for saving his life and was willing to put his trust into Law for their alliance- of course, they weren't explicitly enemies to begin with, rivals at most, but still. Luffy respects those who help him.

But also Luffy grew during the timeskip. Like he's not that clueless anymore (like he finally understands Hancock is in love with him etc), and similarly Luffy gets that Buggy is an absolute loser now. But also Buggy did also help save Luffy's life (even if it was by accident), and while IDK if Luffy is aware of that, I don't think that helped improve Luffy's impression of Buggy

So like. The fuck does Luffy think of Crocodile, at this moment? Even with the Cross Guild reveal, he didn't even really comment on Croc and just focused his energy on being confused about Buggy being "the leader" of CG. IDK it feels almost intentional or something, that we don't know what Luffy thinks?? Especially since we did get Zoro's opinion on Mihawk in the situation?? Or am I delulu?? (Sidenote. I'd love to know what Robin would have to say about Crocodile helping save Luffy's life. What Jinbei might think of the final words Crocodile left him with before blasting them out of Akainu's reach. But mainly just Robin's thoughts)

Like IDK my best guess would be that Luffy still hates Crocodile just the same but is like grossed out by technically owing him one??? In the classic

-kinda way, you know? And that he'd be just kinda confused about it?

Because I can't fucking imagine Luffy being like "oh we're cool now" with Crocodile, let alone "Yay Crocodile :) He saved my life!". But also like. Luffy does kind of owe Croc one. Kind of. And Luffy is usually very respectful of that kind of thing. Aaaaaaaa???

(Also does. Does Luffy even know it was Crocodile who yeeted him and Jinbei out of Akainu's reach to begin with. 'Cause he was unconcious. Knocked the fuck out. Does. Does Luffy even know. Did anybody tell him???)

There's the reasonable part of me that knows Crocodile is an irredeemable evil dickbag and everything he has ever said and done up to the most recent chapters support that. He is too far gone.

And then there's the absolutely delulu part that loves a tragic villian who gets a heartwrenching redemption that's looking for any fucking sign that could indicate Crocodile could maybe be one

Vox blinked. The sudden question caught him off guard. Lucifer had just walked into the room and fell back onto the couch, comfortably leaning back beside him, so a question like that was entirely out of the blue.

"..Come again?" He grinned nervously.

"Well... y'know." Lucifer made a few vague gestures.

"I- No, I really don't."

Lucifer's eyebrows furrowed and he looked straight ahead of him. He crossed a leg and folded his arms while he looked for the words. Vox simply waited, placing his phone down.

After a little bit of silence, Lucifer spoke quietly.

"Would it be stupid to say that because we both hate Alastor it would automatically make us friends-?"

Vox snorted at his expense. "A little, yeah. But I get where you're coming from, I guess. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, as they say."

Lucifer's eyes lit up, and he smiled.

"Glad we're on the same page!"

Vox gave him a small nod and went back to his phone.

A few minutes of quiet, the only sounds being Lucifer's soft breathing and Vox tapping on his phone.

"..Hey, so-"

Vox looked up, slightly exasperated but amused.

"Alastor isn't the only reason we're friends, right?"

Vox tilted his head, raising an eyebrow.

"I mean," The king continued, a little anxious. "It just seems a bit... Y'know, insincere, for our whole relationship to be centered around him of all people."

"Hmm.. I guess you're right."

They sat for a moment, thinking.

"We could take a page outta Charlie's book?" He suggested, clicking his phone off.

"Huh?"

"Remember when she tried to make Vaggie and Alastor get along?"

Lucifer perked up. "When they had to compliment each other?" He grinned. "That was so fucking funny. You want us to do that?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"Alright! Me first. Mmmm..."

Vox waited, somewhat excited. It was probably unreasonable, but y'know. Free compliments. As he watched Lucifer think, he couldn't help smiling gently. The whole situation was pretty odd, but fun nonetheless.

"Well, you're funny sometimes. Your little antennae are cute, though I guess that doesn't really count. Hm.. your voice is nice to listen to. Kind of a shame you don't have a podcast or anything, I'd listen to it. Anyway, you seem like you'd give good hugs."

"Is that really a compliment?" Vox grinned, feeling his screen glowing just a little bit brighter.

"Totally! Hugs are the best." Lucifer folded his arms confidently. "Don't believe me, just try it."

"Mmm... Nah. Not one for stuff like that, all soft, y'know?"

Lucifer frowned. "Seriously? When was the last time you were hugged?"

Vox glanced at him, staying quiet. When was the last time-? Velvette wasn't very touchy either. Valentino definitely was, but he was less gentle and comforting than.. well, overtly sexual.

"...Unimportant."

"Is not."

Vox sighed, feigning annoyance.

"Fine." He sat up and opened his arms.

Lucifer blinked.

"..Hug me, dumbass."

"Oh! Okay!" He looked absolutely thrilled.

Pulling Vox up from the couch after jumping up himself, he tugged the TV head into a hug. Lucifer's arms wrapped tightly around Vox's waist as he looked up at him excitedly.

Admittedly, Lucifer was right. Vox.. really didn't mind this. His hands automatically came to rest between Lucifer's shoulder blades and he smiled, looking away.

"Okay, fine, you have a point, I suppose."

Lucifer pulled away, instead holding Vox's hands and lightly bouncing on his heels.

"Knew it!"

Vox shook his head, unable to contain his grin, and pulled them both back onto the couch, Lucifer sat beside him.

"'Kay, so I gotta compliment you now."

"Hey, don't say it like that! No one's forcing you, y'know."

"Yeah, yeah.." He trailed off, examining the King next to him. "Well. You give good hugs, I can tell you that much. Your eyes are pretty. And shit, I might regret this, but.. your cheeks are really cute. Um- and your hair looks really soft." Vox looked away, a shaky smile across his face. "We didn't agree on a set number of compliments, haha..."

Lucifer stared at him for a moment, his legs swinging lightly over the edge of the couch. "You can pet it if you want."

Vox immediately turned to him again. "Huh?"

"My hair. You said it looked soft, why not find out?"

"Uh.. okay." He laughed, somewhat nervous.

Vox reached a hand out and tentatively threaded his claws through Lucifer's blond hair. It was exactly how he thought it would feel, light and fluffy. Definitely a pleasant experience. Valentino's moth fluff was soft, but too thick to properly feel with his claws. Comparing a moth's neck to not really human hair wasn't the smartest, though.

Vox smiled as he spent a few more seconds gently stroking Lucifer's hair. It was hard to fully appreciate how unusual of a moment this was. After all, Lucifer was the literal King of Hell, Child of God, and for Vox to be able to just sit here with him, petting his hair?

His.. mild confusion must've shown on his screen, because as he retracted his hand, Lucifer looked as if he was trying incredibly hard not to burst out laughing.

"..What?"

"You've.. You've got a few.. um, question marks? On- on your screen?" He bit his lip, unsuccessfully attempting to restrain a grin.

Vox's eyes widened and he immediately looked away, feeling the screen flicker to a childishly flashy exclamation mark.

The king snickered for a good few seconds, fidgeting with the cane in his hands as he did so.

"Yeah." Vox said after a comfortable silence, turning back to Lucifer with a smile.

The latter gave him a confused look.

"You asked if we were friends, earlier. I guess we are."

Lucifer grinned back.
